Blurry Petals

18:45 | Restorative Yoga | 60 mins

Location:  Sadhana Yoga & Wellbeing | Clapham Junction

Open to all levels.

Restorative yoga is a gentle and slow style of yoga that involves long, still, passive holds in a series of 4-6 restful poses. Yogis are supported by props like bolsters and blocs to enhance or deepen their experience and move towards a state of total relaxation.

These classes are a great tool for everyone, including those recovering from injury or illness as they can help relieve tension in body and mind. They promote the use of stillness and breath to balance the nervous system as well as open the way to meditation.

They are the perfect supplement to the more active and stronger classes like like hot yoga, vinyasa yoga or sculpt. They are also one of the best ways to balance out a stressful, fast-pace lifestyle  through healing, grounding and encouraging bodies and minds to heal and connect in harmony.

20:00 | Yin & Nada | 75 mins

Location:  Sadhana Yoga & Wellbeing | Clapham Junction

Yin yoga is a great class to calm down, stop and nurture your body, working on stored emotional tension through passive stretching.

This is a slow paced and passive style of yoga practice where most postures are practiced on the floor in a static way for an extended period. When combined with internal awareness and introspection, the practice of yin can also become a highly meditative tool to cultivate inner stillness.

Postures are held for 1-5 minutes mostly targeted to the lower body, in areas especially rich in connective tissue. Yin yoga does not seek maximum ranges of motion, and rather than trying to stretch our muscles, it seeks to stress the connective tissues (fascia, tendons, and ligaments) and joints.

The class will end with 15-20 mins of sound meditation. The instruments might also be interwoven during the yin practice and will include, crystal bowls, and other gentle instruments conducive to relaxation and letting go.

A great way to end your day.

20:15 | Yoga Nidra & Nada | 45 mins

Location:  Sadhana Yoga & Wellbeing | Clapham Junction

Open to all levels.

Yoga Nidra also known as The Waking Sleep is a powerful guided meditation. The practice is traditionally done lying on your back or in any restful position. Nidra emulates a sense of inner peace and relaxation and lasts between 20 - 30 minutes.

Nada Yoga is a yoga of sound. Nada means "union through sound". It is an ancient Indian system and science of inner transformation through sound and tone. Nada yoga is based on the premise that the entire cosmos and everything in it (including humans) consist of sound vibrations, or nadas.

You will experience sound vibrations through Crystal singing bowls and other sounds for the final 15 - 20 minutes of this class.

20:30 | Gong Bath | 45 mins

Location:  Sadhana Yoga & Wellbeing | Clapham Junction

Open to all levels. Please note: gong is not recommended for women in their first trimester of pregnancy, or those suffering from extreme mental health problems.

It was said by the Ancients that if you were gonged for 10 days you would be cured of anything. Whilst 10 days might seem a bit unrealistic in today’s world, even 45 minutes can bring about healing on a cellular level, enabling you to break free of old patterns and restore, rebalance and re-energise.

In this Sound Bath, you will lie down comfortably with your eyes closed and be taken on a transcendental meditative journey. Your body will naturally tune in and create a resonance with the sound waves from the planet gongs, known for their specific healing frequencies. You are free to relax and drift off where the sound takes you, leaving you feeling deeply relaxed in mind, body and spirit.

Please note: gong is not recommended for women in their first trimester of pregnancy, or those suffering from extreme mental health problems.
